Charged my bank account $29.95 for something I didn't order Ripoff California

I noticed a $29.95 charge to my debit account. My bank statement indicated a company called "Warehouse Members" and gave a phone number 877-294-9137.

I called this number, but not a working number. I entered the phone number in a web search, leading me to this complaint website, where I read a report from Lori, who referenced a report from Kelly, which seemed to be exactly the scam which happened to me.

I found the phone number for "Surplus Alert" and called. A man named "Brent" told me that by ordering the Ebay Auction help booklet, I was automatically entered into a trial membership of Surplus Alert, and that the $29.95 was mentioned in the TOS.

I first asked that any further charges to my account be stopped and my membership be canceled. Brent verified my name and phone number, then said he would send an email confirmation that my membership had been canceled. I asked how his company could charge monthly fees when I had not indicated that I wanted to join. He kept reiterating the TOS in the email that was sent to me.

I guess I junked the email without reading it, because I always scan TOS clauses for mentions of money, fees, or homepage hijacking. I've never had my bank dispute a charge to my account, but I think I will now, because this Surplus Alert Auction Success Kit company is a ripoff.
