I received an email today, with the subject line asking, "Want a complimentary 32" Sony WEGA TV?" I was curious, so I clicked on the link, and proceded to do the "short survey" to receive the TV, which was to be a Christmas gift for my parents. After completion of the "survey" I was informed that I needed to register for two offers in order to receive the TV.
This made me suspicious, so prior to following any of the links, I went to the BBB's website. There were two listings for an eMarketResearchGroup. One had only one complaint, and the other had no information listed, and that the BBB in South Florida was trying to obtain information. I thought that if there was only one complaint, then I had a pretty good chance of actually receiving the TV.
After signing up for two offers, it directed me to a new page, and I was again informed that I would need to apply for two more offers.instead of applying, I clicked the Next button, and found that I needed to apply for, yet again, two offers. The last page, however, left no options, but to spend, at least $150. At that point, I decided to cut my losses, and do a Google search on the company, where I quickly found this web site.
I only wish that I had found this website, before I spent $40 on a CD club, and and Entertainment Coupon Guide. I wish that the BBB was set up more like this site.
Don't make the same mistake with eMarketResearchGroup!!!
