Nationwide Cybersystems - Transnet Wireless
Ripoff Sold overpriced public internet kiosks, supplied no promised support or locations

Responding to a television ad, my husband and I sent for the information pack provided by Nationwide Cybersystems regarding their kiosks and business startup wherein we would purchase the units, they would find 2-3 suitable locations for them, provide tech support, and get them set up. Also we were told additional advertising revenue would bump the income up to a possible additional $600 per month and that national advertising would be added in the months to come.

We were provided with Florida Better Business Bureau material, which we checked, three previous customers in three different states who stated their income from the kiosks they had ranged from a low $800/mo to a high of $1500 per month.

Our salesman, James Vitale, even offered us a "deal" if we took three—$38,000, which we jumped at.

The machines were delivered within 6 weeks after paying for them. The only few locations offered (we were told we were to go out and ok them) a truckstop an hour and a half from our home, a seedy hotel in 40 mile range with known drug abuse occuring there, a hotel on a busy freeway who wanted us to place it in a back room just being constructed, no place near the lobby. We finally got one placed in an out of the way hotel, undergoing refurbishment. It sat there from late October until late June making a total of $15.00 while my DSL costs were $118.00 per month. When the machine required tech support, I was told that would cost $80.00 per hour for someone to go out and that the one year warranty didn't cover "anything."

I will not even delve into the anguish of trying to get the first kiosk up and running. I am not totally computer illiterate, already have another vending machine business, so not unused to marketing for locations (however, I was loathe to do this and looked forward to them placing the machines).

No advertising was ever offered and I had to go out and canvass for what I could myself after placing the first one. Needless to say, that was futile.

In the meantime I was given a bunch of different locators always "working on my case." I finally agreed to place two kiosks 4 1/2 hours away just to get them placed, when I found out the next day I had no tech support, so I didn't put them there.

Long story short, three kiosks sit in my garage, two in the original shipping boxes. The company just disappeared I believe sometime in August and looks very much like Transnet Wireless—same people, same machine. They provided no support, except by phone, found no placements in all of the Kansas City area and surrounding area. Their goal was to sell their high priced machines come hell or high water and not follow through on anything they said.

If you have dealings with any of the people below, run like the wind!
James Vitale, regional director
Eddie Grigorian, locator
Joe Pascaro, head of locator dept
Rick Osario, locations
