2 Dooz Inc. Expensive Product Has Misleading Description

Asteame Medical Devices Inc. Advertises a product called the "Nipple Guard" and markets it as a device to greatly reduce nipple flattening for patients recovering from various nipple surgeries. The product description on Amazon.com, and the company's website never tell consumers the dimensions of the device, which leads people to believe that one size fits all nipple sizes. The Nipple Guard device is very expensive and comes in three quantities: 4 for $49.99,28 for $299.99, and 56 for $499.99. They recommend you wear the device for 16 weeks and change it everyday. That's a lot of money!

I was excited about the device until I opened the box and tried one on. The guard that I thought was "one size fits all" turned out to be not be wide enough or tall enough to fit my nipple correctly. The paperwork that came with the device states that the box is not returnable or our money refundable if the box was been open, and no where on the box is there anything about the dimension limitations regarding nipple size.

Also, the advertisement states that the material covering the device is soft and comfortable for all day use. I found that the material was not soft enough for sensitive post surgical areas like the base and tip of a nipple following "inversion correction" surgery, and this is one of the type of surgeries that the device is being marketed for.

To cut manufacturing costs, the entire device is covered with the same adhesive backed material. The material is wrapped across the top, around the underside, and turned up into the nipple opening, where it roughly stops half way up the inside walls. The interior walls of the nipple opening can come in contact with the base and sides of a sensitive post surgery nipple, so this area needed extra soft material to avoid irritating the area.instead, the material felt scratchy against my nipple.

Another shortcut in manufacturing caused an issue involving the nipple opening at the top of the cone. The cone was drilled all the way through from bottom to top to form the nipple opening, then whole device was covered with the adhesive backed material. The problem is that the adhesive backing was not removed from the back of the material that covered the nipple opening. So, if the top of a nipple comes in contact with the adhesive backing at the top of the opening, the top of the nipple would get stick to it. And this is what happened to me, causing even more irritation to my nipple.

I have contacted the company through their website "contact us" area, and I have never received any response of any kind. Also, I emailed them through Amazon.com "contact seller" area and received no response, so I have left a negative review about the product and the company's business practices. I have also contacted the BBB website about the company; where at this time my complaint is under review.

There are no phone numbers, email addresses, or other company contact information listed on their website; although, I did locate their address on the product box. This product is very expensive and non-returnable, so anyone buying this product should be aware that it is not a "one size fits all" device, and when you have a complaint, the company is non-responsive and impossible to contact.
