I was shocked to see an overcharge on my bill for a common procedure that is performed in many clinics. I had a couple of friends call them. The quotes over the telephone were much less than what they charged me. It turned out that they made a "mistake" by using the wrong billing code. They did not apologize but wanted me to feel sorry for them for making the mistake. I can't say more detail because this is a small town and I have to get along with these people whom I see every day. Just make sure that you get all quotes in writing and all procedures preauthorized as to cost by your insurance company. The insurance company also said I was overbilled.
