All Creatures Animal Hospital Dr. Ahmed
More Concerned About Profit than Patients

Animal Friends of the Valleys (AFV) should stop using All Creatures Animal Hospital in Murrieta for spaying and neutering services. I recently adopted an AFV cat and had a bad experience with this facility and its doctor Nisar Ahmed. I had a previous bad experience with Dr. Ahmed about two years ago regarding a pet and vowed to never use his services again because I felt he overcharged me and wanted to perform unnecessary work. I was dismayed when shelter staff told me that Dr. Ahmed would be neutering my new cat, but felt this decision was out of my hands due to shelter policy. My problems with Dr. Ahmed began when I took my cat back to the hospital for his one-week surgery follow-up appointment. During the exam I mentioned my cat had diarrhea, which I thought was caused by the antibiotics he was taking. Dr. Ahmed said that diarrhea isn't caused by antibiotics. I later learned on the Internet that this isn't true. He said the cat probably had worms and fleas and should be tested for them. He also advised a feline leukemia test. I agreed to the tests though I don't understand why Dr. Ahmed didn't advise the leukemia test before the cat was neutered. If I'd known he had this fatal disease, I wouldn't have put him through the surgery. The tests showed that the cat had fleas, worms and possibly feline leukemia. Dr. Ahmed advised deworming, flea dipping, running a second leukemia blood test and other blood work showing the status of the cat's vital organs. The cost was $485. I said I couldn't afford all the services and requested that Dr. Ahmed just do the deworming, flea dipping and second leukemia test. That cost was $311. I assumed that if the cat had leukemia, he would probably have to be put down so I didn't think the other blood testing on his vital organs mattered. I pressed Dr. Ahmed for more information on feline leukemia, but he evaded my questions and told me to wait for the next test results. It irked me that he wouldn't answer my questions, especially since I was upset over the possibility that my cat was seriously ill. As I drove home, I had nagging thoughts about Dr. Ahmed and wondered if he was lying to perform unnecessary work. When I got home I called AFV to complain about Dr. Ahmed and asked for the name of another veterinarian for a second opinion. I also called the hospital and told them not to perform any work on my cat because I was coming back to pick him up. AFV gave me the number of the Clinton Keith Veterinary Hospital in Wildomar and I made an appointment for 2 P.M. That day. I also asked the hospital's receptionist if she had heard of complaints against Dr. Ahmed from other pet owners and she replied yes. I arrived back at Dr. Ahmed's hospital about 1:10 P.M. And asked for my cat, plus the two tests samples that they had run on him. I was put in an exam room and told that Dr. Ahmed wanted to talk to me. When he came in he asked why I was unhappy. I explained that I questioned the validity of his testing and was taking my cat and his test samples to another veterinarian for a second opinion. For about 30 minutes, he stalled me by asking why I didn't trust him, etc. I kept repeating that I just wanted my cat and the test results so I wouldn't be late for my other veterinary appointment. I had already prepaid Dr. Ahmed so he should have given me my cat when I requested that. Eventually, I lost control and started crying because I couldn't get him to bring my cat to me and felt he was harassing me. I was really frustrated! They finally brought my cat in, but couldn't find the test samples. My cat had been dewormed and flea dipped despite my calling to stop the procedures. Dr. Ahmed also bought in his veterinary technician to tell me what a great veterinary clinic they run, etc. I think he wanted to defuse the situation with another person and calm me down. It was nearly 2 P.M. And I didn't have time to make it to the other veterinarian so I I wearily told Dr. Ahmed to just do the second blood test on my cat. If he had leukemia, Dr. Ahmed said he would return him to AFV to be put down. I told Dr. Ahmed that I have two other cats and don't want to further expose them to leukemia though they've been vaccinated for it. He said for me to bring my other cats in and he would deworm and flea dip them at no charge since they probably needed the services after exposure to the new cat. When I got home, I thoroughly combed my other cats and found no fleas. I did, however, find five complaints against Dr. Ahmed at usacomplaints.com. Some of the complaints included overcharging and needless services being performed. I've urged AFV to sever all ties with Dr. Ahmed for the sake of animals and their owners. There must be other veterinarians in Temecula Valley who can perform low cost spaying and neutering services and do it honestly. I also filed a report against Dr. Ahmed with the California Department of Consumer Affairs and I hope other pet owners will heed my warning about his questionable practices. I met another person who had a bad experience with Dr. Ahmed, too. She said he wanted to remove her dog's infected eye for about $2,000. She objected and insisted on Dr. Ahmed giving her dog antibotics instead. The antibotics healed her dog's eye. Dr. Ahmed is a ruthless, lying butcher out to make money off innocent animals and needs to have his license yanked!!!
