Tonight I happened to see an infomercial for "The Firm" for "The Wave". I was intrigued, particularly after they showed a segment about a woman who started out weighing over 300lbs. They specifically stated the 300lbs. This excited me-often equipment like this has rather low weight limits. At no time was the weight limit stated in the commercial, so searched their website and it is under their FAQS in their help section that the weight limit is only 275lbs. Less than the woman they featured as having lost weight using it.
I am angry at advertisers who use our weight obsession to lure people in, who play up how much you can lose, and then hide if you really can use their product. They showed a woman of more than 300 pounds losing weight on the product who should not, by their own claims, have been using it. It is too late too find out when it shows up at your door - the $19.95 shipping is non refundable.
