Shoprider Handicaped Mobility Scooters & Pihsiang Machinery Mfg. Of Taiwan R.O.C
Shoprider jumbo3 889-xl sprinter scooter rip-off misrepresented don't buy their junk

Buyer beware dcc/shoprider 3 & 4 wheel personal mobility scooters are misrepresented by shoprider.

1. When i called shoprider for information on the scooters they sold, i was interested in a sprinter jumbo3 889-xls with suspension, however i had some concerns as to who manufactured the scooters for them? I told them i had a wheel fall off of my 4 wheel invacare panther mx-4 p.O.V. Scooter made by pihsiang machinery mfg. Of taiwan r.O.C. For invacare, this mishap happened almost a year ago and i still have added pain from the injuries sustained, any way, shopriders (lazloe & holly) told us several times over my speaker phone with my caregiver present that shoprider was made in the U.S.A.By shoprider and they had never even heard of "pihsiang machinery"! Guess what? When i got my new scooter i was shocked and saddened that shoprider had lied to me after i told them of my invacare scooter wreck and pain, rite on the back cowling it reads "shoprider by pihsiang", "never heard of them", bull poop!

Even worse it did not have the suspenion system i was promised, "ouch & double ouch on my spinal injury" (that shoprider was also aware of). They'll tell you anything to make a sale!

2. We asked what range i could expect? And we were told that this 3 wheel scooter has a 20 to 30 mile range, lie! More like 5 miles if you don't use any lights or climb any hill/ramps.

3. I was promised a swivel seat, but when the scooter was delivered to my home it had a tag telling us how to work the swevel seat, but the seat is fixed without a swivel, latter shoprider told us i was to fat for a swivel seat, i'm 6'6" & 370 pounds dressed and the scooter is rated for 600 pounds.

4. Shoprider told us you could use the scooter in foul weather, but when you get caught in a down pour it blows the breaker and/or a fuse & i can't walk for help as both of my legs are non functional so i just have to sit and wait for someone to rescue me. Also the breaker and fuses are behind and under the seat and without a swivel seat i can't swing around to reset the darn thing.

5. Any time someone uses a cell phone or when i'm in my doctors x-ray room the scooter runs out of control any time the key is on.

I can't get shoprider or the dme to make things right and i live on less than $600 a month, and after food, rent, power, etc... I have no way to hire an attorney in order to make shoprider give me what i was reapeatedly promised me!

Boycott shoprider, call them and tell them you read my report and because of my report you won't buy their junk, 1-800-743-0772
