I walked into gym located in Oxnard and spoke with the manager, Cary, about cancelling my membership after my 3 years is up in December. She told me that she will handle it from there and that I did not have to do anything else. Two months later, February I still noticed my credit card being charged so I called the corporate office and spoke to a Lisa and was told that I would be getting a refund for the two months and that she will cancel my membership. Two months after that, April I still noticed my credit card being charged so I called the corporate office again and again had to wait over 30 minutes to get a live person. When I got a live person I was told that I needed a confirmation number before they can refund me the four months they have been charging me. Without regards to customer service whatsoever, they called me a liar numerous times. According to their records, I have not stepped foot into a Bally's gym since January but yet they will not refund me for the charge since I cancelled in December. How convenient for them to do this to people. Their own people who knows their own policies will cancel for you verbally and not tell corporate so that they can continue robbing your credit card. When you call and complain you of course need a confirmation number which was never provided to you by the manager when you personally cancelled. This is a big company and I am surprise at how they treat their customers; by calling them liars.
