Yesterday, this company stole $279 from my checking account. They did this via a "check" that they generated via similar manner that a "phone-pay" or "autmoted billing" is set for. Myself or my bank do not know how they did this. (at this time)
My bank representative, told me she recognized the style/type of check but not the name of this company. Basically, same check-different name.
When discovered, a few hours ago-thanks to my wife, I immediately called my bank and they were very helpful with the dispute process and offered the following:
-close existing accounts, as this is expected to happen again, within 3-4 months, on a continual basis.
-etc.
I have filed BBB report, suggesting legal action; however, I believe not likely due to what I am reading here - 3rd party "stuff"
