Optical Clinic
Poor Product and Service

When I tore my right contact lens 3 weeks ago, I went to the same Optical Clinic I had gone to when I purchased my last two pair of lens's. I was given the eye exam and purchased a seperate pair of extended wear, as a temporary, so that I would be able see while waiting for my new lens & glasses.

When the nurse/assistant or whatever they are called, took the extended wear leans out of the container, she didn't wash her hands first and yet touched my lens before handing it to me. When I placed the lens in my left eye it was not clear and scratchy. Go figure.

She asked me to make sure they were in right (I know how to put len's in). I took them out and she started touching the left lens and rolling it in her palm. I will point out, she had acrylic nails on that were not well kept. I needed to get back to work. I put the extended wear in both eyes and left, hopeing and praying I wouldn't get an eye infection.

The next morning when I tried place the left lens it it tore in peices. I had to see so I put in the old right lens in my left eye and I put the temp extended wear one (the one the didn't tear) in my right eye and went to work. I called Optical Clinic when I got to work to let them know the problem. She said she will order another pair and call me when they arrive.

A few days later she called to say my new lens's were in. I left work. Same thing. Bad lens's and bad manicure. Touching my new lens's again, did't make me happy. Lens's were defective and very cloudy. She said she will order anther pair and call me when they arrive. I left to go back to work with one old lens and one extended wear in my eyes.

She called a few days later to let me know the lens were in. That brings me to today. For the third time I left work to pick up new lens's.By this time the extended wear lens were already 3 weeks old. Time to get new temp pair or my new lens better be good this time.

The third pair was no change! I told her I needed another pair of extended wear while waiting for the fourth set of lens's. I can not keep one old lens and one temp lens in my eyes. I put the temp pair in and went back to work, waiting for the fourth pair. When I got to work to try to read close up, ther was no way I could see close up! I went back out to my car and got the one old lens and put that one in my left eye. At least that way I can see slightly better close up.

Today when I called a different location, 8238 E R L Thorton Fwy, #A, Dallas, TX, to ask for the corporate office #, I was told I had to fax a complaint to 214-741-6676. They gave me, supposedly the physical address, which was 2698 S R L Thorton, Dallas, TX 75224. I asked if Optical Clinic's corporate office was in Dallas. She didn't answer me. I then stated, I didn't know Optical Clinic's corporate office was in Dallas. Still no answer or reply.

I just said good by and decided I would try another way to handle this. When Googled "Optical Clinic Corporate Offfice" I saw a complaint against them and this link.

I have to ask myself, why would I fax a complaint and not know who it will go to? Why wouldn't they give me the coporate # so I could file a complaint?

Some one should expose their tactics. Poor products. Poor service (touching lens's with bad manicure and not washing hands prior). Poor customer service (not giving me corporates # to file a complaint).

If there at typo's in this, I apologize. One old lens and one temp lens is frustrating to say the least. Thank you for your time. Sorry so long.
