As everyone else, I recieved a fax from NAA advertising low cost health insurance. It sounded good and I enrolled. Was led to believe by the company that this was medical insurance coverage and it didn't matter that my husband was a diabetic. I applied on the phone the third week of October with my credit card. Coverage was to start November 1.2007. Received the cards on November 10th.
After reading what the policy was all about, which was a complete joke, I called to cance. I waited online for no less than 18 minutes with no response. I emailed them on November 16 stating I wanted to cancel the policy, which was in the 30 day refund time period. I recieved no response. I went to the company website and filled out a form of cancellation, faxed it to them that day.
Two days later I had to go to my bank and stop the withdrawal for another payment they tried to take. This was after notification of cancellation. I have made several calls and when I could get through I was told I would have my refund by the first week in Jan. Called January 21 and was told they were in litigation with their independent agents who suppossedly took the payment money. The woman I spoke with, Mary, said that I should get a refund anywhere from two days to two weeks.
When checking my account, the only so called agent who took my money was NAA with their phone number on the transaction. The paperwork they sent says refunds will be given within thirty days of the policy activation, less the $125.00 processing fee.in light of this dishonest company, I want the full refund. They cost me time and money to persue this refund, which has yet to be seen.
