On July 14, I visited the office of Dr. William Rosenstein - Advanced Denture Institute on the north side of Indianapolis, IN for the express purpose of having a replacement upper denture made, seven teeth extracted and a lower partial created. The lower partial was to be placed in my mouth after the extraction of the seven teeth.
At the first visit, I explained that I was extremely fearful of dentists and very nervous. I also explained that I did not want my denture to change the shape of my face in any way as I had always had protruding teeth. I also stated I did a great deal of public speaking with my job and the dentures had to fit properly.
At the first visit, I was told I must pay $1,500 and that he would bill my insurance company and would re-bill them in 2006 and give me the $1,500. Rosenstein also stated the extractions would be done by someone other than himself. At the July 21, visit I paid another $200.
I visited his office on July 28 had a wax mold placed in my mouth. I explained at that time the teeth were too large and made me look like a Pekinese dog and they were not acceptable.
He was paid an additional $200 and again I was told he had to be paid in full before I could receive my dentures. Oral surgery was performed on August 11, by another dentist and seven lower teeth were extracted. The dentures Dr. Rosenstein created were placed in my mouth. The upper denture immediately fell out of my mouth and the lower one had teeth that were extremely large and misshapen.
There was no excuse for the upper denter to fall out of my mouth if it had been created correctly. Remember, I had an upper denture for years that did not fall out.
On August 15, I visited his east side office where his receptionist adjusted the lower denture. I discussed with her the upper denture being unacceptable as it continued to fall out and did not fit my mouth. I also asked her for an itemized copy of my bill. I never received it
On August 16, I visited the east side office for another adjustment for both the upper and lower denture. The upper still was falling out of my mouth and the lower was still causing extreme pain. On August 18, I visited the north side office where I had an appointment with Dr. Rosenstein. He instructed his secretary to lie to me stating he was not in the office. He was indeed in the office. At that time I spoke to Kenneth Sacco from his staff about creating a new upper denture and an appointment was set for August 23 for the east side office.
On August 25 a wax mold was placed in my mouth. On August 27, I was told the "new" denture was ready, when I was actually given back the original denture, which been re-aligned with heavy material glooped on it making it completely unwearable and extremely rough. The denture still falls out of my mouth, I am unable to wear the upper denture at all, and the lower denture still causes pain and is inferior. I must wear my old upper denture and new lower as there is no other way for me to work. During these numerous visits, I was lied to repeatedly about the Secure Fit denture and given several different stories about why I did not have this denture.
In order to obtain the dentures I had to borrow against my retirement fund to afford his prices. I never received an itemized bill from him but was told repeatedly by him that I had to pay in full before I could receive the dentures. I have a horrible fear of dentists and this experience has not helped that fear.
I work for a non-profit agency helping people with neuromuscular diseases; an important part of my job is speaking in public. I am embarrassed to do this now as the dentures he created don't fit and I can't wear the upper he created, which means I have to glue in the lower and wear my old upper denture. I spray my audience and lisp when speakingsomething I never did before meeting Dr. Rosenstein and his dentures. I am in constant pain and am unable to even eat salads or bite into any type of food. To eat, I must have soft foods, which are normally loaded with carbs which is not good for my high blood pressure.
Anyone visiting Dr. William Rosenstein - Advanced Denture Institute to obtain new dentures will be disappointed and overcharged and receive no satisfaction.
I filed a complaint with the BBB and was told I did not qualify since I did not purchase a product. I feel dentures ARE a product and my complaint should have been filed.
I have filed a suit in small claims court to get my money back so I can obtain new, properly fitting dentures from someone else. I have been told he has been sued before.
