A few years back, a co-worker and I were at a rest stop when two guys pulled up in a white van saying that they worked for an electronic company that sold speakers and they had extra. They said that they wanted to sell them and go to the strip club for dances and beers. The Kirsch loudspeakers looked really good and the info they had with them backed it up that they were $4,300 speakers, so I bargained and grabbed them for $200. I figured it would be a good investment and the profits would be great. I tried to sell them to a couple people, but they weren't really interested. I went to the pawn shop and they guy said they aren't worth crap and alot of people have been coming with them. F*ck! So, I just kept them and used them when I got my new place.
Second Encounter:
A few months back, I was working on my buddy's car in Greenway Village, Berlin, NJ and I was greeted by two guys with a similar story. The speaker system was different though and looked good, so I made them follow me to my place to check them out and "get money." They followed 15mins. To my place and I tested it. The system was Di'Vinci and it was garbage. I had a cheap Magnavox boombox hooked up to the Kirche speakers (because I blew up my big stereo) and the Di'Vinci system was about as quiet as headphones compared to the loudspeakers. I didn't buy it and told the guys to get out my house and never come back.
If you are planning on buying speakers, do not get them from these "back of van/suv" salesman. The Kirsch speakers sound pretty good, so if they try to sell them to you, make sure they are new and never pay more than $150. As for Di'Vinci, don't even waste a breathe saying "NO, " just walk away!
