I have been a Verizon customers for years and have had my EnV for almost 2 years. Two months ago I noticed my bills was $50 more than normal, so I checked it out and noticed HUNDREDS of data charges. I am on an old plan and only get charged minutes but they were taking up my 450 minutes. I have unlimited text, pix. I called and EVENTUALLY the charges were taken off... They changed my cell number to insure there would not be anymore fraud (which I thought was from someone outside of Verizon.) Last month the bill was a little bit high (difficult to notice because I have it bundled with my internet and home phone), but I paid it thinking it was residual from the month before. I only do 2 things with data charges... Pix and my Wheel of Fortune game, which I play maybe once a month.
This month, again, my bill is $50 more than normal... Same thing... Data charges. I call and the woman has a reason for everything. 2 data charges at the EXACT same minute... On the internet and receiving a pic. A call being pinged in my city and a data charge 6 minutes later in a city 3 hours away... They ping wherever they can. I told them I do not use the internet and she said I am. Over and over. I asked to speak with a supervisor, he tells me he will have billing review it and get back to me within 3 days. My contract is up in a little over a month, if they don't get this resolved, I am gone!
When I spoke with a rep at my local store, she said the MEID number would tell them if MY phone was accessing the data, but when I called they said no, it didn't have anything to do with the data, only the cell phone calls. I am frustrated and worn out. I have been with them for almost 5 years and don't really want to go through the hassle of switching (I am guessing they know this) but I am not paying these fraudulent charges.
