I recently had a bad experience with CellForCash.com (www.cellforcash.com) a website that buys and recycles used cell phones. I had used them a couple of times in the past with no prior problems.
That changed in January.
In January, I sent them my 2-year-old Samsung Blackjack that I had recently upgraded. Their website said the value of this model was $25, so I sent them the phone which was in 100% working condition with no damage.
A few weeks later, I got an e-mail from CellForCash.com telling me the phone will not charge and is worth $0. The phone was working when I sent it to them and I took extra care to pack it carefully to make sure it would not be damaged in transit. I requested the return of the phone, but CellForCash.com wants $10 to do so!
While their return policy is shown on their website, it is my position that this should not apply to a phone that was in working order when it was sent to them. They either inadvertently damaged it or it was damaged in transit both of which were out of my control.
This process went from a getting a small amount to recycle the phone to costing me more than it is apparently worth. CellForCash.com used to be a good method for recycling old phones, but now I advise everyone to steer clear of them because of these policies.
