Rocky Mountain Radar sold me a radar "buster" that guaranteed i would never get cited for speeding—or they would compensate the consumer for the speeding ticket - in the 1st year of purchase. I had to send device to rocky mountain radar for repair because the power plug was damaged. RMR allegedly repaired device. Went to turn on unit—no power. Now for a 2nd time unit had to SEND BACK UNIT FOR REPAIR. Went to use it - i was speeding-saw a state trooper with radar - lo and behold - i was stopped and cited for speeding. The device, did indeed, trigger a response from the police officers radar-but the device failed to scramble the officers signal-thereby resulting in a ticket. I sent unit back to RMR and complained they had failed to repair the device properly-which resulted in the ticket. The company also accused me of mounting the device improperly-but the way i had always mounted it— was sucessfully scrambling radar signals.
The windup - ROCKY MOUNTAIN RADAR failed to assume liability for the shoddy repair of the device and would not cover me for the costs of the speeding ticket. NOW CONSUMER—keep in mind— once your unit fails and results in a ticket, you will probably choose to not use the device again because if you get a second ticket—YOU CAN LOSE YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE! RMR knows that and could care less about the consumer. So after letting the radar buster sit on the shelf for over 3 months - i took it out to test it—it failed me again, when i passed a "courtesy speed indicator" on the highway. Now for a 3rd time, this unit was sent back to ROCKY MOUNTAIN RADAR FOR REPAIR. With no apologies from the company - they displayed a public be damned arrogant attitude as if i were a nuisance to their operations.
My advice—don't deal with ROCKY MOUNTAIN RADAR FROM EL PASO, TEXAS. The unit had to be repaied three times and they didn't compensate me for the speeding ticket—which their failed repair—had caused the citation to appear! I PAID $330.00 FOR THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE AND ONCE IT FAILED ME CAUSING ME TO GET A $130.00 DOLLAR SPEEDING TICKET—it appeared as if they didn't know me or want to deal with me. This whole event was a royal rip-off! I complained to the EL PASO BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU - to intercede - and the bureau told me they have had many complaints against ROCKY MOUNTAIN RADAR—ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO EQIPMENT FAILURE AND COMPENSTATING FOR THE SPEEDING TICKETS. My advice—never deal with these rip-off artists who laugh all the way to the bank-public consumer be damned! Rocky mountain radar is a true rip-off operation and have sensitivity towards their customers!!
