We were looking for the best price on an Infocus LP600 Projector. My husband stumbled on bestpricedcameras.com. They offered the projector at $1209.00 with a standard $400.00 manufactors rebate.
We called to verify the price was accurate. We were told that it only comes with a 90 day warranty & also with a 50 hr. Bulb. If we upgraded the bulb to a 2000 hr. It would only be $199. And a 2 yr. Warranty would only be $249.00 With such a pricey camera we decided to go ahead with the upgrades. We were told that our credit card would not be charged until it shipped, which took over 2 weeks. The card was charged the following day.
After waiting 2 weeks, I called to cancel the order & was told that I could not because it was a special ordered item. I told them that I was going to refuse the item from UPS & they said that I would still be charged. When I received the projector, I called Infocus to run the registration # & was told that best priced cameras purchased it from them on 5-23-06. They said that there is an automatic 2 yr. Warranty & that the camera comes with a 2000 hr. Bulb, that we were ripped-off from best priced cameras.
I phoned best priced cameras & spoke with Antonio, supposedly the mgr. & he stated that the camera is priced as an overseas item & they have to add the warranty & bulb to the price. I asked him if this is disclosed on his website & he stated yes, but I have scoured it numerous times & have yet to find any verbage on this.
I am disputing the charges with my credit card company at this time for the warranty & bulb charge. Best Priced cameras gave me a invoice for the total amt. Of the sale, but refused to itemize the items. They said they cannot give me an itemized invoice.
These guys are a bunch of punks & its a shame that they are allowed to operate like this. They think they are above the law when speaking to you, until after they make the sale. I hope consumers read this before buying from this jerks.
