Don't assume that all chemicals are the same. Check out these links to see just how dangerous Hydrofluoric Acid can be. It doesn't seem to matter how diluted it is? From what I understand, diluted HF just means the symptoms won't be felt as quick. I think one of the articles talks about working with as little as a 1% solution is dangerous. I think most floor etching solutions run around 8%???
HF is more suited for lab work where one wears the proper protective clothing and has access to eye wash stations, showers, co-workers etc.
Would you feel comfortable working by yourself, after hours doing an installation using HF??? I know I sure wouldn't! Plus you have to store and transport this stuff to the job sites. Accidents happen and in my opinion, aren't worth the risk of using HF.
