PCDI Ashworth College
Scam, Cancellation and Collection under False Pretence or Fraudulent Practices

I signed up and began an Associate's Degree course, and kept my payments current. I also sent the transcript request form to my high school, as requested.

As per PCDI Ashworth College contract agreement, if the high school transcript is not received within a certain time, they will cancel your enrollment and the FULL AMOUNT of the tuition becomes due.

Well, naturally the transcript didn't get to them, so they contacted me and told me it was needed or I would be
cancelled, but they said I could FAX the transcript to them.

I FAXed my transcript to the number provided, and they wrote me again saying they didn't have my transcript. I told them I FAXed it, and they said they didn't get them and accused me of using the wrong number (I didn't. The FAx receipt proves this). They provided the FAX number (770-729-9389) again and told me to mark the FAX to the attention of "Linda, Alona or Pat." So I FAXed it again.

Yet AGAIN they told me they did not get the FAX. I told them I used the number they gave me, and I marked it to the attention of Linda, Alona, or Pat, and the e-mail response I got stated that "Those people don't work in the admissions department. You weren't supposed to send it to them."

A few days later, they cancelled my enrollment, even after I'd completed several classes and kept up my payments. They sent a letter demanding the full amount of tuition because I defaulted on the contract, and they never returned any correspondence regarding the fact that the cancellation and lack of a transcript would have to be their fault, seeing as I FAXed it a total of three times to the correct FAX number, to the people they indicated, at the times they indicated, and they STILL "didn't get the transcript."

I find it rather doubtful that they could have misplaced FOUR copies of my transcript (the one from my high school, which must have gotten there at some time, and the three FAXes). At the very least it shows horrible customer service and questionable office organization, but I suspect they got all the transcripts and just destroyed them in order to cause me to default.

I now believe the scam is that they don't INTEND to get your transcript. It gets "lost" or "delayed" and they have justification for cancelling your enrollment and collecting the full tuition without needing to send you books or provide testing or a degree.

I would warn anyone to stay away from PCDI and Ashworth college. They are either highly disorganized - to the point of costing their students a lot of money - or they are extremely dishonest and unscrupulous.
