Lehigh Valley College Career Education Corporation
I was told I had to apply for a loan in the amount of $3500 and I was completely ripped off

Hi back in 2006 I had looked at a school called Lehigh Valley College AKA (LVC) As I was tld they were a subsiderary of Lehigh Valley University which they were not and that was what they were telling students. Lehigh Valley University is a 4 year school and very high ranking. So I decided on Lehigh Valley College since it was closer and the cost was not as high. I thought it seemed as if it were a nice school to attend since it was somewhat close to my home and I had to change careers due to a severe spinal injury. So I was signed up to start in July and I was givin financial aid but I was told that I was short on my loans by $3500.

I was told to go to AES and apply for a private loan as to which I did. I was also told to apply for the NETS GRANT because they give it to everyone in the IT program. I was not told about the ins and out of the grant I had only known that grants were free money you dont have to pay back. After a harsh winter I realized I needed to move to a warmer climate so I moved to florida and I tried to attend school down here.

I am completely sickened by what LVC did to me in ripping off my money and finding out that they are not an accredited school. I still have to owe back that loan which is now in the excess of $5500 for the private loan with an intrest rate of 14% and I now have been told that i need to pay back the NETS GRANT because I didnt finish school at Lehigh Valley College. This is a horrible situation and I think its disguesting at how a company can take advantage of helpless students whose degrees are useless and cant get a Job. I transfered to a net school when I moved but they seem to only offer all online classes as to which I was not looking for and wanted all on campus classes so I am currently switching to a new school and will finish my degree there as they are an on campus facility and its a nice place.

I dont feel that I should have to owe any of that money back due to the fact that this was nothing but a total scam and also that they tried to use the name of a prestigious University as they said that they were owned by the same company. I thought I was going to get a good Education but I guess what i got was ripped offin the amount of 10's of thousands of dollars and I now somehow have to pay back money that I got nothing in return for. This is a sick and cruel thing to do even after I explained my medical situation they still sunk their teeth in like vampires. I hope in all that something can be done about this and that all the students that paid for what tey thought was an education turned out to be a BIG JOKE! A complete SCAM.

Sadly and sickened by this,

A former student
