Ive decided my opinion is that Larry Cranes teachings have evolved into a Brain-Washing-Business.
I was reading the report from 12/11/10, and it occurred to me that I believe that's been MY problem all along too. I've done every last thing that I've been instructed to do in both The Abundance Course and the Goals and Resistance course... And I've never seen any of my money or material goals either. I, also, have been keeping the Six Steps in mind all the while, rather than keeping in mind the thought that my goal has already been achieved.
I've followed the advice of wording my goals in "the present tense" and in "the Now"... But I've neglected to keep it in my mind that "I already have it" and so my thoughts have always been that I dont have my goal yet.
While reading my goals and releasing on them, I've been holding in mind that "I'm doing this so I can GET my goal..." I've never stopped thinking "that if only I hold-fast to The Six Steps (because THATs whats instructed to do - keep these Six Steps in view all the time)... And if I just keep remembering "I CAN DO THIS!"... That I'll GET my goal.
After thinking about what you wrote, I agree that the number 1 Step should remind me that the most important aspect of how to get my money/material goal is to never have a thought except I already HAVE my goal.
Since reading what you wrote, I started to think about the other things Larry's been saying all along. I too quit smoking with Alan Carr's book. I remember him saying to "think of the cigarette craving as 'the little monster' dying, and that in just two days time, the little monster will be dead..." This picture held in mind helped me tremendously to successfully quit smoking. So I started to think about how Larry has been doing the same thing with what he's been saying... But here's the important difference I realized... Larry hasn't been saying "think of it like this..." Larry has been doing something VERY different. He's been saying "It IS this way". Specifically, he's been saying that all of us are "like boxes of Kleenex" that ARE over-stuffed with negativity and THAT's why we haven't been achieving our goals in life. That we NEED to and HAVE to pull out all of the Kleenex tissues (negativity) until the box is empty and we WONT be attracting our goals to ourselves until we've 'released' all of our negativity. Hes been teaching that we ARE filled with negativity!
As a devotee of Lester Levenson's teachings, I've been loyally accepting what Larry has been saying... So I've been "thinking" of myself as "filled with negativity" and thinking that I haven't done a good enough job of emptying myself of negativity and that's why I haven't gotten my money goals.
This "belief" about myself has caused me to feel BAD about myself, rather than good. And to be completely candid, this acceptance of this garbage way of looking at myself has had me suicidal twice since taking on these courses of study. I have been looking at myself as filled with negativity and thinking that I havent gotten my goals because I havent been doing a good enough job, and Ive been secluding myself away working on myself because its been drilled into me that anything other than that is escaping necessary work that I HAVE to do on myself if I want to GET my goals Nice, huh? Ive been suicidal because Ive accepted this crap picture of myself into my thinking.
Lester never taught that. Lester taught that we ARE nothing but LOVE and Happiness already. He taught that our holding onto negative thoughts of ourselves is the reason we dont see what we really are and immediately realize the Christ Consciousness instantaneously. He taught to strive for the Christ Consciousness as the one and only true source of the happiness were all looking for in the world and that we would never stop looking for this true source of Real happiness until we looked for it where it is - within. THATs what The Six Steps were originally created to achieve. They were never intended to help people achieve money and material goals or else they wouldve been different steps! They wouldve been Step 1- Always hold in mind that your goal is already in your possession (or something to that effect).
The Six Steps were derived from Lesters book The Keys to the Ultimate Freedom which was originally a prerequisite reading to taking The Abundance Course/The Release Technique. It was Lesters attempt to get everyone interested in going free from the entire world itself. That entire book is focused on helping the reader to stop thinking the happiness they are seeking is in material items or money (or people/relationships/jobs). You know how many pages of that 400 page book are devoted to getting a money goal? ONE HALF of ONE page! Yet Larry uses the Six Steps from that prerequisite book to tell people how to get their money goals! And thats a HUGE, HUGE mistake thats cost me (and Im thinking a lot of other people) a lot of Unhappiness. And you know what his answer is? You NEED to take more courses! Thats what your problem IS!
Larry insists that the reason we don't achieve our goals is that we're spending our time in 'escapes' instead of doing what we SHOULD be doing with our time - which is emptying (my overstuffed negative self) of all of my negativity. He says that if youre escaping (which is doing anything that's considered by most to be FUN - like TV, movies, socializing, reading, exercising, sleeping) then you're not doing what you NEED to be doing to get your goals - you're keeping yourself filled with negativity instead - and THAT's why your not getting your goals. So I've been feeling pretty crummy about myself since I've chosen to accept all of this crap and the only reason I accepted it in the first place is because it's been coming from one of Lester's 'chosen ones'.
It occurred to me after reading the 12/11/10 opinion here that I agree with that and I also believe that Larry has gotten carried away with his teachings and they've instead become a form of brainwashing that hasn't been at all helpful to me (since my goals have been about MONEY). It's actually been harmful to me.
Lester says that the ONLY reason something is true is because we choose to believe it. That's the ONLY reason. That if we choose a different thought to believe as true, then it IS! I've been choosing to believe Larry's rantings and it's caused me to see myself as a person stuffed with negativity that I haven't been good enough at getting rid of... That I NEED to seclude myself away, working on myself, if I want to see any of my material goals, and the ONLY reason I haven't seen my goals is because I haven't done a good enough job on myself... So I need to seclude myself and work on myself better!
Today I woke up to that brainwashing and threw all of that crap-thinking into the garbage. Guess what happened next? I feel great! I stopped thinking of myself as a Kleenex box over-stuffed with negativity and realized I've NEVER been stuffed with negativity. I've always been a positive and happy person! I only got negative and unhappy when I started believing that garbage-thinking that Larry has been selling me. Today I'm back to thinking of myself as I REALLY am - a happy and positive person. And it's the best I've felt since buying his courses and wasting all of my time thinking the way he told me to think about myself!
I listened in on last weeks free conference call and when I heard a caller say that she, too, has been feeling suicidal since working at Larrys courses, I decided that maybe there was something to this that maybe myself and that girl on the call werent the only ones whove been having suicidal thoughts as a result of listening to his warped teaching style.
When I first realized this today, I thought that this brainwashing by Larry was probably accidental on his part - that I just didn't receive what he was trying to say correctly and that he didn't mean for me to take it the way I did... But on further reflection, I'm not so sure. He sure hard-sells all of his products... He sure wants everyone to think they NEED this stuff of his in order to be happy... He sure wants us to think everyone who buys his courses and live seminars are achieving BLISS and incredible SUCCESSES! And when you wonder why you haven't been able to do it too, he's quick to say it's because you haven't done his courses right and what you NEED is to buy more courses and attend expensive live seminars and more live seminars and more live seminars - because if you're not keeping up with this stuff on a daily basis and if your not constantly working at building momentum, you'll go back to being a Kleenex box over-stuffed with negativity!
I've decided I agree with what's been written here yesterday and I've decided further that I think Larry has turned Lester's teachings and good intentions into a 'brainwashing business'. I would never have dreamed I'd be saying this just a week ago... But now, for the first time in a long-time, I believe I'm seeing clearly. And I feel a whole lot better today than I did a week ago interesting Coincidence? I dont think so.
I will go back to Lester Levenson's (direct) reading material (I'm especially fond of his book "The Keys to The Ultimate Freedom") and use the 12/11/10 Report-writers suggested "Steps" in place of Larry's. I agree that the other Consumers suggested Steps are more appropriate for money-goal achievement and that Lester's direct teaching materials are much better than the brainwashing that Larry's teaching has evolved into.
I've also decided that I think Larry's 'teaching' has become Larry's teaching and isn't Lester's teaching anymore at all.
