ITT Technical Institue (ITT Tech)
17 year old stuck in ITT

Hello, I was in High School researching colleges (like most seniors at this time of the Academic Education). I didn't know what to major and was interested in electronics and music. I researched both these fields of educations on the internet and ITT-Tech was the fastest in response (2 days later). After talking they scheduled me and interview (which was around June 12). When talking to a recruiter she then told me that I would be a successful person and a perfect student for this school (I have no evidence however).
When speaking with the Financial aid worker, my dad didn't know what they were saying (My dad isn't a English speaker). They just told him to sign here and there. My dad wasn't happy with the school but since they started charging him, he encouraged me to attend.By the way, even I didn't know how much the school cost until when I was in 3rd quarter; my class-mate told me. I then asked the financial aid department and got shocked at the amount. When I told my dad, he cried and was angry at me. I felt horrible too.
The staff placed me for school immediately, I told them I was still in High School and they said, Just for this few weeks you can miss the classes. (Somehow I think that a Diploma isn't required since they accepted me as a pre-high school graduate).
After starting my first quarter I didn't like the school. I talked to the front desk worker and told her night classes aren't going to work for me. She then told me (Next quarter you may take morning classes). I also told her that the classes werent what I expected, she said (first classes may be uncomfortable for most students).
2nd quarter, I got a morning class (only Problem Solving). I still wasn't satisfied with the classes.
3rd quarter, I felt that this school wasn't taking me anywhere. I decided to talk to the recruiter that interviewed me. I somehow couldn't find her, until I went to the front desk and asked for a specific recruiter (anonymous). The lady at the front desk told me that the (Anonymous Recruiter) doesn't work at the school anymore. I decided to talk to the financial advisor and told them I wanted to get out. The guy working at the financial office told me (you are 3 quarters down going to the fourth and your half way). I explained that I wasn't interested in the course no more and that I want to major in something else, but the recruiter (and some random worker came up to me) and they both convinced me into staying by saying that I can double major and that I am making the right decisions.
4th quarter, I found out that I was enrolled on the wrong program. I asked a classmate "Why aren't we studying any computer hardware? My classmate responded, "We are IT-CNS which is computer networks not Computer electronics". This made me very angry inside; I went to the front desk and explained this situation. The lady's response was "We can place you in IT-CEET but, you'll get behind by three classes since the courses are different". I then decided to stay with the CNS program because all I wanted was to get out and not stay longer in this school.
5th quarter, I had the Linux Class. This class was horrible to me, all we had to do was learn commands and type, type, type. The teacher gave 90 pages to read as homework and didn't even teach the class properly. (Most classes were similar in the aspect of the teaching methods)
8th quarter I find myself stressing out too much and worrying about my future. I am just bothered by my experience in this school. My communication with my parents has diminished and we argue a lot. I'm 19 now and feel like my life is worthless. These days I've been struggling with my capstone class since the work is intense and the teacher won't help much. I really don't know where my life is going to, and I just wish I can go back to the day I called this school and stop myself from committing this mistake. There are more bad experiences but I posted enough. I just hope I can survive through these hard times I'm facing; everyone around me knows that something is wrong with me. I just can't set my mind straight worried about the payments. My dad gets 3 payments (Sallie Mae, Bank, and Boarder of Education), he works over 8 hours a day for minimum wage and my mother is unable to work due to several operations.
I thought ITT was a good choice because of the commercial and advertisement they have. But this school is literally after money and not education. The reason I applied to this school was because it sounded promising and I thought was better than a University.in fact, I didn't know this school was a private school. I thought it was the same as a community college. I didn't know the differences of colleges. I thought that all colleges were owned by the government but I found out that its not that way.
