I received a bill from Alyon Technologies at my address in Bakersfield addressed to Mr. And/or Ms. Xxxx. Since I was not familiar with the company and had never ordered any of their products or services, I called their 800 number. He asked me to verify the last four digits of my social security number (which I did against better judgement). They still don't have my first name. The only reference on the bill that made any sense is that they had my old phone number from 6 years previous. My guess is that someone used their services using my old phone number and they have an old data base and cross referenced the number to attempt to bill me.
On my most recent correspondence to them, I noticed that there were reports from the attorney general's offices in the states of West Virginia and Georgia, so I wrote a note on the bill and informed them that I would contact the attorney general of California.
If you receive a bill from them, DON'T give them any personal information. Send a copy of the bill and a short letter to your state attorney general's office for consumer protection and send Alyon Technologies a copy of the letter you sent (with your name and personal informaton blacked out.) Hopefully, they'll go away after that. If not, at least you will have reported them to proper authorities.
