I have been doing more and more research on Kaplan University. Sad to say, but the more I read, the worse I think my decision to sign a contract was.
There has been talk of a lawsuit against Kaplan University, and there is indeed a lawsuit that was filed by former employees alleging false claims made by the company. This was filed 3. I am not sure where it stands right now.

Ex-employees allege bad actions regarding student loans, as well as making it real easy for students to graduate, but then when they were hired, the students were allegedly not the best employees. Seems like some students were just coasting, and loan money was not used by the students for educational purposes. Well, that's sometimes true of some students, but when you are paying all of this money for an education online, coasting through, and having this seemingly sanctioned by the university, ireally is not a good option.
If anything, even though this is only the filings of a lawsuit, and nothing has been decided in court, I think it is essential reading for any prospective students, especially if they are considering taking out a loan to pay for their education and/or have any questions in their minds whether they have the basic skills to succeed at the college level.
