Virtual Learning Center, Mindsplore or whatever aliases they go under, stole my hard earned money as well stealing from other students. They preyed on those who were looking to find a career that would enable them to be somewhat "recession" proof along with the added value of being able to work from home.
Some students selected this career out of necesscity, and i know there were some students who are disabled and thought this would be a wonderful chance to work and provide a much needed service from home.
Instead this company"so called company" a day before the holidays halted all access to their internet sites, disconnected their phones, and all including the instructors Linda Najar and Carol Simpson have made no attempt to contact the students or make themselves available to those of us who have lost a lot of money and very precious time.
I am not alone in this as there were students who were just starting this course from overseas, can you imagine what they are going through?
The best thing to do is contact the BBB in Canada, who will file a report for you and believe me there have been many complaints.
Apparently the "company" closed down due to the owner dying. Not sure if this is true or not and i find it hard to believe. Linda Najar works for ON - TIME Medical Transcription. Linda apparently knew about the whole situation, "owner dying" mentioned it to "one" student and instructed this student not to say anything. Linda also said she has not been paid by VLC and that is why she no longer works for them... Whatever...
I bought the expert package and was almost complete with the course until this happened. I paid for the internship and VLC did not honor their contract. I am left with missing coursework and no evidence of my marks for all the tests i took, (except my own emails stating the latter). Everything in my student tools via VLC has been erased.
The whole course was unprofessional, you literally taught yourself the whole course, which by the way some of which had been lifted verbatim from other medical websites, the testing was ridiculous, absolutely no assistance or shall i say very minimal assistance from the only two instructors Linda and Carol.
As i write this December 29, I have just logged onto their "VLC's" website. Yes they or shall i say their website is still up... Yes still up and running touting for business. And i know they are still wanting business because on their website they state "course prices will increase by 2010" and right up until the last few days of December they were new students who unfortunately paid and are now out of money due to these "people".
Another piece of information which you will need to know about these scam artists is that they were actually registered with the BBB in Canada and not in NY. Their licence ceased 12/23. But yet they still took money from poor unsuspecting people.
I would suggest posting here and everywhere on the internet outing these crooks. Report them to the BBB.
I have lost a lot of money along with a lot of others. I can only wish those in the same situation as myself good luck with job opportunities, don't let these idiots stop you from pursuing Medical Transcription and your dream of working from home.
