I had called the 1-800 number on the commercial and requested the material. After looking through the program for a week, I decided that it was not for and I returned the material, certified, back to the company. I thought that was the end of it.
Three years later, I was trying to purchase a new car and SMC sent my account to collection for not paying them $300. When I called them, they told me that they never received my package and in order to have the $300 reversed and I was told to send them the certified receipt. Being in the military and moving 3 times since the year how was I going to be able to save that receipt?
I don't have anything to say that's bad about their products. If people have had success with this company, then good for them. But considering I never received one bill or one notice stating that I was going to collection, I find the company's practices deceiving. If this would of happened, I would of been able to take care of this problem years ago when it occurred, not now when my credit is ruined for the next 7 years.
