I was so proud of myself to go back to college at the age of 30. I was obtaining a degree in Business that would make myself more marketable, however have recently found out that many companies do not recognize a degree with Kaplan University as they lack many accreditations. This means the whole year that I spent was a waste of my time and money.
At the end of every term I have trouble getting my report card for the past year because my name is spelled incorrectly and my name is MATT, the simplest and most common name in the United States. Every term I have even requested that they spell it correctly, tell them how to spell it, and they still can not spell it correctly. I question a schools ability to do their job when they can not even spell my name correctly.
Recently I had issues with the finance department saying that I owed them money. THIS CAN NOT BE, MY EMPLOYER PAYS 100% OF MY SCHOOLING! I was transferred around and spoken to very rudely by a Gwen. She spoke over me and cut me off when I was trying to find out what was not paid to call my employer to have the issue corrected. It was verified that it was paid and then she told me she had to get me to someone else that takes care of Employer Tuition Vouchers.
I tried also to withdraw from a class several times; my advisor would not let me do that and finally was forced to drop the class. I was told time and time again that I would not have to pay for the class; they still took the money from my employer and refused to refund it back so my employer suspended my education funding until I pay the tuition back to them.
I also did some more research of this school and found that it is a subsidiary of The Washington Post.interesting enough while doing some school work I also found out that 90% of newspapers readers are those that have some college or are a college graduate. It makes me wonder if this newspaper just has an arterial motive to sell more papers. You can verify this information by visiting journalism.org Also if you visit this site http://www.washpostco.com / you will confirm that this media company runs a bogus college that only cares about making money!
Washington Post Company owns or has a finical interest in the following companies. My advice would be to avoid them all as they only care about the all mighty dollar and not the consumer.
Washingtonpost.com
Newsweek
Kaplan
Slate
Express
BudgetTravel.com
The Herald
The Gazette
Southern Maryland Newspaper
