Potatos to you, sir, but, forgive me, as I look for the "big man for the small man" Mr. Marvin Zindler, I am praying your team will fill in on this story: the story of a cruel boss, a President of a company.
A surveying company with hardly any employees, now I know why, and many jobs out there done by this company (a side issue), my husband found in his words "messed up so badly, well, it was hard work, but he had to start from scratch" This is a President of a company in Harris County in Houston, called GeoBase Inc. I found it's been registered in BBB only as of last May or June, in operation since GeoBase Inc. President Rodric Reese, a sadly very verbally abusive human being, showed
off his gun on his office desk, (looking back, that should have been a red flag, but my husband and son were desperately looking for surveying work this last June, 2 weeks after hiring my husband, hired my son 18, and the short story is with held my husband and my son's last check; told my son if he got an attitude "would mess his whole little world up" threatened my husband's future employment of ever working in Houston as a surveyor again, as of yesterday, we found out through a friend, Mr. Reese has already been sending emails to other companies, ie, Cotton Surveying; all because my husband (not one single mishap in a vehicle in 20 yrs, scratched Mr. Reese's company van on a fire hydrant in rush hour traffic to avoid an oncoming vehicle)
Mr. Rodric Reese refused to let husband call insurance, claiming insurance would make Mr. Reese fire husband, this intimidated my husband to give 1764.00 ALL of his paycheck to Mr. Reese the day after Mr. Reese (we have recordings voice mails) told my husband he was a f - and he would work sun up to sundown to pay for company van told my husband what shop to take van to, then we received another recording with Mr. Reese swearing he's calling police to turn in my husband for "stealing his van", when husband took it where Mr. Reese told him to! Mr. Reese gave my son his first check, still owing 500.00 to my son, John, the next payday.
My son wasn't driving, of course. My son called Mr. Reese last Friday, and Mr. Reese stated "as of right now, you work for your stepdad, you don't get a penny from me" My son started to protest, when Mr. Reese said; "and if you get an attitude I am coming over to your apartment, also "I will mess up your whole little world!" My son's first job experience. No, sorry, his FIRST job experience was selling the Houston Chronicle, as I also have! I hope that doesn't make this a conflict of interests, we only sold part-time a year ago. So again with our story:
Mr. Reese hired my husband around the end of June and my son on approx 2 wks later.
My husband as a party chief, son as a rodman in training. My family was thrilled. We've been in the hole financially. Now we face eviction. The manager of The Enclave Apartments (where we live) heard the voicemails of this Mr. Rodric Reese, and said, I am with you, Mr. Murphy, go get him.
Well, the DA said he won't handle anything under 20,000.00. We had an attorney Mr. Blake, who kept us waiting for 5 days, then said, his office wouldn't make enough money from the case, but it was still a case and take to the DA. Please, please, I am afraid, this man let my son see a gun on his office desk the first day of work and said woops, sorry, I didn't mean to let you see this. When he verbally abused husband before husband hit the firehydrant, I was scared if we would make the rent and groceries, and I told my husband I might stay at my moms, so my husband told the boss (Mr. Reese) who said, "what's wrong with thoe people you live with?" Dont they know life is hard???" This is so not right.
We are hitting the food pantries and churches this week.
I am hanging onto my 10 an hour job as technical support for xyz (can't say, please) for cable product we just launched, but I am so nervous to even take my phonecalls and sound confident or cheerful.
This Mr. Reese has singlehandedly almost broken up my family.
My son is out looking for work today with a friend. (he has no car). We are in debt. We admit it. Oh, reminds me, Mr. Reese also said "I doubt if you people do have any good credit, but if you do, it's gone!"
My husband is the hardest worker you could ever meet. That's why a lot of men didn't like working with him to be honest. They knew if Chris was Party Chief, they wouldn't be able to goof off. When given option for my son to be trained with existing at that time
employee "Amber" or husband, I said my husband, because I knew my son would learn good work ethics! By the way, we can get and have verbal statements of how Mr. Reese treated his former employees Amber, Sonny, and others. Yesterday, we found out through a friend Chris worked with at Cotton Surveying that Mr. Reese did email other technicians stating my husband "stole property including hiding his (Reese's) van!" This is crazy! This is unbelievable. But to tell you the truth, sirs, I am afraid of this man. And his gun.
I dreamed he shot me in the back. I am off work today because my nerves are shot. Please help. So far, we've lost 2500.00 and employment, I can't do the bills myself, and the joy and peace we have just worked so hard to be reconciled as a family last February was lost. And, I always taught my son, if you work hard and honest you will be treated fairly and with dignity, whether a janitor or nuclear physicist. My father is a prominent nuclear physicist in the country, but he always
taught me to work for myself. When I told him what was going on last night, he said he was having surgery tomorrow, just his knee, thank goodness (he has Hodgkins Lymphoma Mantle Cell), he told me to be careful, this guy sounds criminally minded.
The sad part is, Mr. Blatt, this story isn't a BIG MONEY
MAKER, and I guess that's what Mr. Rodric Reese is banking on. We can't find anyone to intimidate HIM to give us our money back, and take back his threat to my son, and call the other surveying company and take
back what he is spreading about my husband. My husband is a great surveyor and party chief. Actually, he would just rather survey, his specialty, than be a party chief, but all he asked for were an eyeman, and a decent code book, and on 3 occassions wasn't given either. But he still got those large jobs done in Georgetown and Houston. Wow...
What do my husband and I do now? Keep hoping someday this man will be brought to justice by someone with a lot of money to spend on a lawyer BEFORE someone is actually hurt or worse? Mr. Rod Reese threatened my son. How do you "mess up an 18 yr old's whole 'little' world?" I was referred to not as Mrs. Murphy, but "those people you live with", my husband has recordings, timecards, paycheck activities from the Ace Check Cashing facility in Katy, and evidence galore, but of course, Mr. Reese had him working on verbal contract and paid him 5 times bi-weekly, and on several occassions told my husband to never ever let (Mr. Reese's) "other full-time white collar position at Pegasys to never find out about his being President or Owner of another company, namely, GeoBase, Inc. I loved living here in Houston; I've lived here all of my life; my dad worked for Shell Oil in DeerPark, and in my late thirties, after raising all my children, except my son, (just turned 18) I married again to Mr. Murphy, an excellent worker and a work ethic comparable to my own father. Dr. J.D. Jobe, who in spite of his Mantle Cell prognosis, has put together a kit to make the Irving Museum of Science for the Boy Scouts of America with his Physics for the Pinewood Derby. I had to throw that in, because we are all common people, the working joe, but teaching our children they can do anything with hard work, right?

Help us expose this so called President of GeoBase Inc. Everything my husband and I have and owned is now in hock because of this thief. Yes, my husband was responsible for repair to the van, or maybe a partial payment if an insurance hike happened to Mr. Reese. Do you think Mr. Reese might have also collected from his insurance agency on top of the paycheck he took from husband and son?
Please be careful as I am really afraid of this man.
