Rip Off - CashCall - This should be a crime

I got a loan from CashCall over a year and a half ago. I had a secure job, great credit, no money issues at all. I had money saved up, I had everything going for me... Minus the fact that I am young, so although my credit was great, we are looking at perfect credit on $500 cards.

All of a sudden an animal of mine got sick which cost me an arm and a leg because her insurance didn't cover it, I lost my job and needed to purchase my own health insurance and I needed the extra cash. I went to my bank and only received a $1000 loan, but I had an additional $2000 worth in bills that needed to be paid, this is when I went to cash call.

I knew getting the loan that the rates were high, but I fully intended to pay off the loan in a matter of months.

Within the first month of the loan, they were calling 20 or 30 times a day to "let me know" that my payment was due in X amount of days and it "better be paid." then later apologized that I was on their automatic dialer and they couldn't control the volume of calls. I couldn't believe they would call me so much, but I went on to pay their steep payments and do as best as I could.

A few months later I fell back on my payment, I called immediately to reschedule a payment. They harrassed me but said I had "5 days" to make the payment.in those 5 days, I probably received somewhere around 100 phone calls, including calls to my references and my new job. They asked me to borrow money, steal it if I could - but that they needed to be paid otherwise they would sue me for everything I have. They wouldn't work with me at all, they wouldn't let me make partial payments - nothing. They kept trying to debit my account and kept giving me overdraft fees - I finally closed my account all together with my credit union and went to a different bank that cash call had no access to.

This happened 2 months in a row - that's when I told all my references to tell them they don't know who I am. I finally picked up the phone and said I had no idea who they were - and to stop calling otherwise I would call the police.

After a few months of not hearing from them at all, they sold my account to a collections company. I paid around 1200 to CashCall when I had the account and they sold my account and I owed $2300. That sounds better than $10,000 pay-off in the end of the loan, doesn't it?

The collections company is much easier to deal with, they don't call, they don't write, they don't really do anything other than work with you when YOU call them about making payment. And you know what? They don't even want the full amount, but will mark the account as "paid" which will go on my credit score, even though I already ruined my credit - like a majority of us have with this cash call nonsense.

You are all better off ignoring them - telling them you have no idea who they are leaving it be. The stress isn't paying the bill, but their embarrassing phone calls and their manner in which they treat you and/or hang up on you. Why put up with it? I'd rather just deal with building my credit again rather than attempting to deal with CashCall. They are a rip-off company and they have absolutely no idea what TRUE customer service is. This company should be put under, and they should repay everyone that has taken a loan from this company a majority of their interest paid on the loan.

I am happier now without the stress from them - without worrying if they were going to show up at my door (like they said they would) or not. Having a negative on my credit is much less stressful than hearing your phone ring and knowing it's them.
