I was called on July 20 from a company identifying themselves as First American Leisure Card. After several refusals, and listening to their jargon, insisting they needed my checking account information to get me started with a Mastercard with a $2000.00 limit, no fees, $100.00 dollars in free gasoline, a 6 day 4 night Florida Vacation to be used in a period of one year. I still refused their services.
I was going over my bank statements online and noticed that on July 24 a fee for 199.90 was deducted from my account. The name was ALC and gave a 1-800 number of 1-800-587-4152. I have since been calling this number for over two weeks, to either have it ring continuously, or to have it be busy, or to actually get an automation where I am on hold until I get tired and just hang up the phone.
I again noticed tonight that this same company has taken an additional 10 dollars from my account. I will be going to my bank in the morning and calling my Fraud Protection Line associated with my bank to try and make arrears for this.
Even though I gave no authorization, I still was deducted the amount from my account. I sincerely hopes this happens to no other consumers.
