U.S. Xpress - Xpress Global Systems
Waste of time and money Ripoff

I am reporting this for anyone who is interested in working for U.S. Xpress. I am a recent graduate from a truck driving school and I was an approved pre-hire at U.S. Xpress. They went over all the information I sent them and told me that I was a eligable to go to their orientation. They offerd to buy me a bus ticket, but I said that I wanted to drive my own car there. They said that would be fine and that they would reimburse the cost of my fuel up to the price of a bus ticket. I figured it would be easier to drive there rather than to bring all the items I would need, as far as luggage, onto a bus.

Anyways... I arrived to the orientation and on the very first day, I was disqualified for hire. What gets me is that I was already approved before showing up. They called me in and told me that I wasnt going to hired, so I asked about the reimbursment for my fuel. They refused to reimburse me. I had to sell my laptop computer in order to pay for my fuel to get home. There were 64 people who were in the same orientation as me. Just to let you guys know... Over 50 of us were sent home. I don't know for what reasons, but I do know that everyone of them were stuck finding and funding their own way home. None of us were payed for the orientation either, like it was stated in their brochure. I found the people there to be rude and unconcerned about the drivers and the pre-hires. I was also told that orientation would begin that Monday at 8 A.M. I even called to verify that time, Iwas told, yes, to be there by 8A.M. When in fact it began at 7 A.M. I looked like an idiot for being late.

Such an unorganised group of people there. I remember one point when I asked the orientation instructor a simple question and I was completely ignored. I don't know how this company manages to stay in business with such dis-respect for their drivers. The terminal had drivers there that were waiting for their trucks to be fixed, some have been waiting over two weeks. I just want to warn anyone who is thinking of joining this company to think again. I was completely unimpressed with their manner of handling things. Trust me folks, there are alot of better companies to choose from.
