I'm a potential college student that has a difficult financial situation, and never really had a computer before, and i was searching for scholarships to pay for college. I was sent an email, that claimed to say i won $500,000. Sadly, I wasn't familiar with the whole scamming business, and needed money bad for college, becuase i don't have the money to pay it.
What happen? I called the number in the email, and actually talked to somebody, and he had me send persoanl info to his email address, then i became weary of this "scholarship", after i was forwarded to another email and another man, who was supposedly from Ecobank in Nigeria. He then gave me a call and sent me an email that said i need to talk to one of their attorney to sign off the winnings. Thus, i oncemore about to be forwarded in the matter of hours! I grew weary of pursuing this, and stopped, only to find out it was all a scam, and i was charged $75 on my phone bill! I was only a simple high school student that is just barely getting by, and here i got scammed, because of my ignorance. Not only that, but i also got in a lot of trouble with father, for making such calls. Here is a copy of the email below. For pivacy purposes, i took out my email address and full name.
