Island One Resorts Management Corp Dishonest representation of vacation offer for resort in Florida in reference to Timeshares

When traveling to Florida on Interstate 75 from a stop in Atlanta Ga. My husband and I stopped at Vacation Station. There were signs all along I-75 advertising this business for free tickets to Florida attractions. When we arrived at the station my husband and I were offered free Universal Studios tickets if we toured Liki Tiki Village resort. We were informed that we would have to place a deposit in the amount of $40.00 to reserve our space for the tour/tickets and we would get the deposit back after completing the tour.

The young lady informed us that the presentation would be only 90 minutes. We were also offered to stay at the resort for a discount price since we elected to do the tour for 49.00 a night. We also placed a deposit of $20.00 a night for the stay, this was understood to be non-refundable and we would pay the balance once we arrived. We stayed three nights. Once completing the presentation, which lasted over 2 hours, we went to the gift center to collect our gift.

The gift was suppose to be two universal studios tickets for free, after touring the resort. We did not receive our $40.00 back after collecting the tickets and inquired about our deposit. The employee at Liki Tiki gift center stated that the cost of the tickets were $20.00 each. This was disputed by myself since we were told by Vacation Station employee that our $40.00 would be refunded at the end of the tour.

The employee called Vacation Station at spoke to the employee who arranged the tour and she disputed the fact that she told us that we would get our deposit back for the ticket after taking the tour. I was allowed to speak to her on the phone to recant our conversation, in which she denied. My husband also heard the same information. The employee at Liki Tiki would only refund our money if the representative at their vacation station would honor it.

At some point while on the phone with vacation station the employee kept saying this is going to get me in trouble or something to that nature. However we were not trying to get any one in trouble just to get our money back as promised.

Her supervisor was called and she stated that the only way the employee would have offered free tickets if the tour was after 11:00am or 12:00 (noon). At the Liki Tiki gift center they said they didn't have free tickets. This was a rif-off and they mislead us about the deposit.

My husband and I didn't want to ruin our vacation by pursuing this fearing that we would not be allowed to stay at the resort and having to find other accomodations for our vacation. The telephone number to Vacation Station is 1-800-968-8095, the map with Orlando Vacation Bureau and the location of the resort had on it 2 free tickets hand written by the employee, along with other info. I couldn't find this flyer when at the gift center, but found it folded in a magazine I had in the car when we returned home.

Others voiced the same problem, from other companies advertising free tickets and also the time frame on the tour/presentations well exceeding 90 minutes.
