Dear Sir/Madam:
This letter it to advise you of the unprofessional and unbusinesslike practices of PhotoKing (information above).
I ordered a Nikon Coolpix 5000 camera, wide angle lens, filter kit and case from Photo King on February 8th. The salesperson's name was Sean. The special package price was $1,229.00 plus shipping $59.68 and 8.25% sales tax order totaling $1,395.00. (Copy of receipt attached for your convenience).

When I received the said camera/Serial Number: # 2514714, I realized that it wasn't the U.S. Version of the camera, which I paid for, but rather a gray market version. (the displays were in Japanese, not English. The accompanying lens was in fact not the lens that goes with the camera. The instruction manual they sent with the package, was photocopied and not in original condition.

I then called Nikon directly and they told me that in order to get this camera serviced, I had to send it back to Nikon in Japan via U.S. Customs. I then contacted Sean at PhotoKing and demanded a full refund because I no longer had faith in this company's business practices. After many calls to Sean, he agreed after speaking with his Manager, Dave Sirus, that I would get a full refund.
To date, I have received a refund of $1,106.10 shy $288.90. Again, I called Sean at Photo King and he stated that this is because they are charging me a restocking fee and they wont refund the shipping of $59.68. How can they charge a restocking fee when they sent me bogus merchandise? Also, since I wrote Nikon's phone number on the Xerox copy of the bogus instruction manual. Please keep in mind that I received the camera on February 13th and returned it on the 15th.

As far as I'm concerned, sending a gray market product to a customer, who paid for a U.S. Product is illegal and they have no business keeping one cent of my money, shipping, etc. They shipped the package to me via Federal Express Saver (see attached receipt). I paid less than $10.00 to return it via UPS insured (see attached reciept). I am sure it did not cost them $59.68 to send it to me via 3 day.

I demand the full refund balance of $288.90 and fully intend to prosecute them in every way possible to prevent this kind of thing from happening to another innocent Internet shopper.

Please contact me at your earliest convenience. If you require any further information or assistance in this regard, please do not hesitate contact me at the number indicated above. Thank you in advance for your courtesies and attention in this regard.
Sincerely yours,

Cheryl
