I have more information regarding the status of this complaint. Direct Buy has not acknowledged receipt of my letter sent October 31, cancelling membership. However, I did receive membership materials, which I returned marked "refused" based on cancellation of October 31, enclosed a copy of the letter sent originally, copy of their contract and a new letter indicating a refusal of the membership and any associated fees/services expectations for payment. This was sent certified mail.
Complaints were filed with BBB and FTC and Attorney General.
Regardless of the outcome... I will not pay these fraudulent scam artists one cent. I believe a class action suit is warranted and would appreciate any comments regarding how to do it and who may also be interested and eligible.
As I read more of these complaints regarding this company on a national level, I remain concerned that such fraud is permitted to be perpetrated on consumers to the extent it has occurred with this company without resulting in an investigation and sanctions.
