My boyfriend got one of those "official" looking letters today from NAAC, claiming he'd won $1,900, 000.00, but had to send in $20.00 for "the report". LAUGHABLE! First of all, they addressed it to "Mark M". I'm Cheri he is Mark S. But he lives with me, the homeowner. Now, I can see them wanting you to correct any misspelling of your name, but a WHOLE DIFFERENT LAST NAME??? Would you REALLY believe you'd won $1,900, 000.00 from a company THAT DIDN'T EVEN HAVE YOUR RIGHT LAST NAME??? I know lots of women change their names when they get married, but I don't know of ANY MEN that take the woman's last name??? Plus the fact that WE'RE NOT MARRIED!!! All I have to say is this: There's lots of scams out there and this one, who wants $20.00 and will even accept your personal check??? Don't do it! Then they'll have your account number, etc. And, get it.
I'll bet that if Ed McMahon came to my door or the "Prize Patrol", they wouldn't be looking for "Mark M"!! But if there are enough suckers out there that will send this joint $20.00, THEY may end up with $1,900, 000.00 and be living in the Bahamas or Switzerland! And I live in a condo complex. I'll bet if I went around to my 200 or so neighbors, they probably got the same letter! Don't fall for the okie-doke!!
