I-Works
Scam, possible credit card fraud ripoff

I-Works first appeared on a credit card statement four months ago with a $3.95 charge. I didn't recognize their company as one with whom I'd done business but let it go. The following month and the last two months I-Works has hit our statement for a $49.95 charge. Our credit card company was gracious enough to provide a phone number but didn't show an address, other than the location of I-Works (listed in St. George, UT). Calls to I-Works were never picked up but I was routed into a recorded loop that announced various positions in the 'customer service' cue - several times increasing the wait time rather than the usual and expected reduction.

Our contacts with our credit card company have been fruitful as their own investigation shows no respones from I-Works and our account has been credited back the charges inflicted by whatever scam is being played out.
We show no record of ever having done business with I-Works and have no idea what they offer or represent. I always record an email receipt of purchases and maintain them on file - there is nothing to show any business dealings with a company called I-Works nor any of the other 'aks's' listed in other 'consumer complaints.'
Our question, obviously, is how did I-Works obtain our credit card number?

I've notified other vendors with whom we did business during the period surrounding the initial I-Works charges. To date, none has reported other customer complaints but everyone is thankful for the information and are filing the information for future reference since online fraud seems to be on the rise.

I have contacted the Utah State Attorney General's office and filed a formal complaint against the company but have no grounds for restitution since our credit card company has agreed with us about the fraudulent nature of I-Works practices

Since I-Works appears impossible to contact and we are without a physical or even an email address we have been unable to formally protest these actions directly to the company. Reports on I-Works, et. Al., business tactics prompted us to take public action and offer our story as further proof of this company's illegal activities.
