For years, I have known and done business with the owner of "Fast Cash" the pawn shop located in Pequot Lakes MN. This pawn shop also has pets for sale. When looking through used VHS merchandise, I discovered pet urine on several videos near the floor.
The main problem is the attitude of the female owner. After a long, hard day at work, my friend, Dad, and I stopped in (on the way home) to do some business and try and strike a deal like we have many times in the past. Upon finding the used merchandise from within her store, we approached the counter to check out. The owner made the comment "how much money do you have to play with" and this is when we started to calmly deal on a decent price for an old game system and various movies. The total price was $25.00 minus a $3.00 in credit for the items I brought in.
On a side note: Most pawn shops are willing to "deal" on prices of "used merchandise" logically. Typically, a customer shouldn't pay department store prices for second hand merchandise.
The owner was not willing to deal down on the prices of this used merchandise. Some of which were priced more than department store prices! The main problem was that the owner refused to deal on ANY merchandise, period. My Dad suggested to take our business elsewhere, at this point, the owner got pissed and said to us "I'm not going to sell anything to you, get the f* out of my store!" My Dad told her that you have a filthy mouth just like your daughter, and she shouted back saying "Get the F* out of here you old f*er!" So we left and she slammed the door.
Is this the treatment any customer should get, after doing business with them for so long? I think not.
