My daughter was scammed by Advantage America! After recieving a call that she had won $12,500.00 in which $500.00 of it was in grocery coupons she would be getting in the mail.
The $12,000.00 would be put into her account with no strings attached. It was free money that she won for being a tax payer. She asked if this was a scam and the foreigner on the phone told her no. After giving her personal information over the phone (wrong thing to do) they had what they needed to go into her account and take her little bit of money she had for her bills.
After notifing me (her mother) of this I told her it was a scam and to call and cancel it. Which she did. Next thing you know they went into her account and illegally took $49.95 out. She called several times again and told them she wanted her money put back.
What a joke! A week later they took out another $300.00.
Calls were made again by myself and my daughter. They stay real calm on the phone while and keep saying the same things over.
It's definitly a scam. They should change there name to "Take Advantage America".
