I am a LPN that would someday like to become a registered nurse. After looking online at different universities and colleges I found myself being pursued, almost harrassed, by The College Network. After a while I thought I would look into it more and contacted them back.
They sent an "Advisor", more of a saleswoman, out to tell me about the program. She told me the program was accreditated through Indiana State and I was guaranteed to pass the boards in my state. Ske I asked a great deal of questions and she seemed to have a valid answer for all. I signed everything she threw at me and I thought I was on my way.
Then I called one of the test sites to schedule my first test. Well, she failed to tell me each time I take a test I have to pay the test site just under $100! They never state anywhere on the contract that I would be the one paying the test site. They even make it look as though thats covered by them! The lady that sold this to me never explained that I would have this additional cost, even went as far as telling me all of the costs were financed!
So I decided that this company was untruthful and wanted to cancel my "contract" with them. Well I had quite the run around trying to get an answer on that with these people. Everyone I talked to sent me to the vp. When I called his office he seemed to conviently be unavailable until I made it extremely clear that I must talk to him. The "VP" told me I only had three days to cancel! I was past and that was the only way to cancel!
I told him I wanted no part of this dishonest company. We argued for quit some time and got nowhere. I told him that I was going to go the media and let the public know what they do. He responded by threating me that I better watch what I say because the college network is a big company and I don't know who I'm dealing with!
I told him not to send me any study guides and he said too bad we just sent them yesterday. So now I'm stuck with a huge loan for absolutely nothing. I am willing to do anything to let the public know about this company, before anymore hardworking proffessionals get scammed!
