Complaint / Review
Vision Investing Group
Ripoff

In May I received a call from a Tom Cherry from the Vision Investing Group. Although I normally refuse all calls of this type, I listened to what he had to say because I had him confused with another company that I have dealt with. He extolled the virtues of the Executive Mentoring Course. He told me that even though I had been trading for some time, I would learn to trade much better and that I should be able to make up the price of the course before it was over. He also told me that the course was guaranteed and therefore I had nothing to lose. Because of the guarantee I would be required to send copies of my trades so that I would not make an unfair claim against VIG.

The first clue that I had that this offer was not on the up and up was when over the phone I had to admit that the guarantee provided that I would get to take the course over again, not that I would get my money back but at this time I was excited about the mentoring program so I agreed with some reluctance and reservations. On the following Monday I received the study materials which I watched and read as instructed.

The second clue that this program was not what was promised was when I sat in on the first of what I found out was to be a total of eight one hour coaching sessions taught by Jim McCann. It was very basic but Mr. McCann said that he had to make sure that everyone was brought up to speed because of the different levels of experience in the class. When you sign up for the course, it is emphasized that you have three days to back out but, of course, this class is days after the deadline so I felt that I had no choice but to continue and hope that we would get into a real mentoring phase. Mr. McCann gave us a list of eight stocks that we were to monitor the daily and monthly movements.

After the lesson on options we were instructed to make paper option trades on the before mentioned eight stocks. That was the last time that they were referred to. There was no mentoring except for the lessons that could have been learned by reading any number of books in your local library. My complaint is not that the material presented was wrong or bad. My complaint is that the Mentoring Course is not what it was made out to be. There was never any coaching; only lectures. For $5000 I expected a hell of a lot more (I think some of the students paid even more than that!). So, if you want to be a damn fool and throw away your money for some basic information, take the course.
