I joined AARP and got a very good price on my auto insurance through the Hartford Insurance. About a year later around renewal time the Hartford Insurance called me and told me they made a mistake on the price for my insurance and that they could no longer give me that rate, they suggested a different higher rate for my renewal but I drop them.
I also tried to use my AARP membership card to get discounts when I went buy glasses and I found out that I could get even better prices without the AARP membership!!!
It also may interest you to know that the AARP magazine which was sent to my house every month was full of liberal leftist articles.
