I received an invitation to a convention, from The International Society of Poets. This convention was supposed to be at Walt Disney World, where prizes were to be distributed to all poetry winners.
I was unable to attend. (Sure am glad I didn't go... Because I would have been the only one there.) I also, upon, their request, sent a poem to be read by a supposed professional poet. Editors, Managers, etc., were supposed to be at this convention.
The letter I received from The International Society Of Poets also said that this years convention, was to be the biggest one in history. I have really been looking forward to receiving my-"Outstanding Achievement In Poetry Silver Award Bowl with my name custom-engraved (a value of $200.00), A Bronze Commemorative Award Madallion, and a Full One Year Membership into the International Society Of Poets for 2005—"If you will allow us to present one of your poems at the convention in your place."
Along with the full one year subscription, to the above Society, an ISP patch and decal and a free subscription to The Poet's Corner quarterly newsletter. The full amount of $187.00, was sent out to them on 2/22/05. I HAVE NOT received ANYTHING from this Society, nor have I heard from them.
