Walmart warehouses are not logging the correct arrival and departure time on trucks bringing in freight. I am not talking about the regular walmart trucks i'm talking about all the other trucks that deliver to walmart. They are logging from the time a driver arrives at the receiving window. To get to the receiving window a driver has to check in at the front gate, go to the assigned door (if it is open), back the truck up to the dock, chock the wheels, and disconnect the tractor from the trailer, walk to receiving, and wait in line with the paperwork. It takes walmart about 10 to 15 minutes with each driver because of all the paperwork they generate. So if you have 4 or 5 people in front of you it could take awhile.
As i said before it is when you arrive at that window that your time starts according walmart. It is their way of not paying the driver when they go past their 2 hour unloading time. On top of that they charge a lumper fee for unloading the truck. They ask if you want to unload your truck or hire a lumper. Walmart does not have a lumper service.
What we have to pay for is walmart employees unloading the truck and i would bet that they just get an hourly wage, which would not add up to the amount walmart charges the trucking companies. Walmart should be paying for the driver to drop the trailer, after all they put locks on the air hoses so the trailer can not be moved while unloading it. The way walmart treats drivers i would not shop there uless i had too.
