Platinum Film Investments
Rip off of san francisco

Want to make a movie? Want to get millions just for paying "processing fees"? Can you believe we fell for this scam? PLatinum Film Investments fo San Francisco go more than $8,000 of our money in their film funding scam.in a nut shell, they conatcted our local film bureau via fax, claiming they were a legitimate film investment group. They offered to arrange a "group of investors" from around the country who would fund our production. They stated they need us to provide "legal fees" for them to complete the paper work. The fees started at $1600, but then they claimed they were having problems getting all the investors together. We were told funding for our film would be complete in a few months, and they agreed to start looking for funding for another project at the same time. Of course, they needed more money to get the project rolling. That was 1995. Now, in the year of our lord we are still waiting.in the interim, we spent thousands of dollars in faxes, long distance phone calls, certified letters, and even contacted the FBI to round up these jerks. DUring our 5 year "adventure", any calls to their office were answered by numerous faceless characters, who all sounded like the same guy. The amazing thing is, they claimed to be owned by Johnny Weissmuller, Jr.—sone of the movie Tarzan! Ron Pucillo was the head honcho, who also sounded like the co-founder Ron STone, then our calls were answered by a number of flunkies named QUinlan, Tom, dick harry. You know the rest. Every time we tried to get straight answers we were always informed that this series of lying clowns was a) not in b) on vaction c) In Panama trying to arrange visas for foreign wives d) Busy out working on our financing. We had glorious stories of a really rich guy in Atlanta named Samir Raffi, who had a biiig check waiting for us. We heard of a guy named Larry Chin in Tornto, who had a simliar "big check" waiting for us. Does anybody know who these people are? And where the he# is my "big check"? Where's tarzan? Yes folks, we were given the old bait and switch, and over that five year span, we had hundreds of other people hoping that production on our films would begin. Alas, we just got scammed.in the interim, I have located some other folks from across the country who were scammed by this group of jerks. I also found their web site, and it is an eye opener. Now, after being cleaned out by these scum bags, I have never trusted any investors for anything else. My advice is that if you are at all interested in the film business, never PAY ANYONE ANYTHING to help you get financed! If someone is legit, THEY'LL PAY YOU! Now, here is a quick example of their line of b.S. That kept us on the hook for so long.in a fax dated March 1,1993, The big wig of Platinum, Ron "man of a thousand vocie"
Pucillo wrote this: "Dear WIll, Just to bring you up to date regarding the financing of your film through our partnership... While the offering is not yet fully subscribed, we have received financial commitmemnts of $900,000 to date. We expect to complete the subscription in the next few months if not sooner". Yeah, right. Whatever Ron. We've got something for you to subscribe to! A prison magazine! Watch your pockets, and don't get taken to the cleaners like we did!
