I purchased a second home as a rental which had water damage because of a pipe bursting in the attic. There was quite a bit of damage. The hard wood floors needed to be redone, new drywall, etc.
I found Scott Mackintosh business card in the door and contacted him. Scott Mackintosh claimed to be a Contractor and I hired him to restore the home.
Scott Mackintosh was given a key and worked on the house during the week while I was at work. I would drop by after work to check on the progress and was disappointed to find Scott Mackintosh drunk and smelling of liquor.
Additionally, his work was shoddy and sloppy which I attributed to the fact that he was inebriated all of time. I complained but to no avail, he actually had the nerve to deny that he drank.
As the work went on I was at the end of my rope with all the mistakes and money I was wasting knowing I would have to hire someone else to redo the work. When he damaged the hard wood floors by improper and over sanding I fired him.
Unfortunately, the plumbers had dropped off some material at the property that same day (copper pipe) which was stolen later that night or early next morning. I knew Scott Mackintosh had to responsible.
Scott Mackintosh left a huge mess and a couple of broken crack pipes behind which I later found.in an attempt to get more information about him I decided to check his Contractor license # and found it was someone else's # he had stolen.
2 weeks after the tenants moved in the paint was peeling off the doors, windows and trim. Get this, the idiot used flat paint over oil based enameled paint without primmer or preparing the surface. Any one can tell you this will not stick and it is peeling off in sheets.
He also painted the hinges, door knobs, window hardware, thermostats, light switches and he got paint all over carpet in bedrooms. The entire job was very bad, a nightmare and I am filing charges against him. Do not hire this man.
