I hired Scott Draper of River Falls, WI to hang and finish drywall in my basement. He claimed to be skilled at this and seemed like an average working guy. I am not a drywall expert so I had no idea how poor a job he had done for me until after the primer and paint were applied... Long after I paid Mr. Draper.
After the priming and painting were done at much expense, I had to call Scott Draper over to look at the results. Every seam and butt joint was visible. This guy had no clue how to finish drywall and refused to correct it... So I took him to court. A couple weeks after the 1st court hearing, my cielings started to crack at the joints Mr. Draper finished. I had a 24', a 15' and a 6 ' crack in my cieling just in the main room.
I won the court case because it was so obvious that this man did shoddy work, refusing to stand behind it. He just plain Ripped Me Off!!!
All in all, I have already spent more than I paid Scott Draper initially, just to repair his poor work. I have won the court case but trying to get a dead-beat to pay up might prove to be just as difficult as fixing his work.
At least I have some lien rights in Wisconsin with this judgement against him.
