We are in the process of suing this contractor. He is in breach of contract and took us for 5K. This is the letter that went out to the Attorney General's office of Missouri:
In addition to Mr. Bukvic walking out on the contract, we are also left with several problems which are a direct result of Mr. Bukvics incompetence or deliberate attempt to sabotage.
We are still without windows, Mr. Bukvic told us he had ordered windows on July 5 Home Depot confirmed several other orders on his account but a window order was NEVER placed on his behalf. Because Mr. Bukvic has taken out the window and the framing, we are looking at 3-4 weeks and a cost of $1000 to replace both windows. Plus our electric bill was $400 for the time the windows were out.
There are several other damages we are left with which we discovered after filing the complaint:
Trouble finding a contractor willing to finish his work Contractors hesitant because Mr. Bukvics taping and mudding was
wrong. He also used wrong panels for the drywall in the bathroom.
Plumbing and electrical work should be completed BEFORE hanging drywall. Most drywall needs to be taken down to plumb and do electrical work now.
Hardwood floor was damaged by Mr. Bukvic.
A hole was left in the basement drywall when he was checking for plumbing
Wrong drywall was used in what is supposed to have been the bathroom (needs moisture absorbent)
Left old carpeting in crawlspace instead of disposing of it potential fire hazard
Not only are we way behind schedule on our project due to him walking out, we are also unable to find someone to continue / repair his work in a cost effective, timely manner.
