I made the mistake of buying a SPASPONGE from spacap. If you watch the video, they tell you that this is the best thing for hot tub lids. Easy to use, durable, repels water. WILL NOT soak up water. This is a load of crap. 6 months after buying my SPASPONGE, the lid had so much water in it I could hardly get it off my hot tub. My wife couldn't remove it at all.
I am not a small person. I am 6'3" and weigh 265lbs. I had a battle on my hands. I was told that snow probebly soaked through the top. The top that is supposed to be WATERPROOF! I was told I should try putting a tarp over it and/or spraying it with a waterproofing sealant. It's supposed to be WATERPROOF!
The last time I talked to the woman at spacap, she said that I must have my chemicals wrong. The lid is cracked on the bottom and that is how the water is getting in! Bs! As I said, I have had a hot tub for twelve years. I know how to keep the chemical levels where they are supposed to be.
I asked if the would honor their warrenty. ASOLUTLEY NOT!" It is YOUR fault! We have been in business for 30 years. Our product is without any defect! If there is a problem, it is YOUR fault!".
If you want to spend $600.00 on a piece of JUNK SPASPONGE, by all means, buy this product!!
